This piece I realllllllyyyy enjoyed making and I really love the outcome. This piece may have cured me of my lack of interest for making art. The general idea for this piece was that each square represented a different emotion reflected on the same face, and each square would have colors based on that emotion. The bottom square is blue and supposed to reflect anxiety or sadness. The physical representation of this emotion is through the biting of the lip, something i classically do every time I am upset. The yellow square is representative of joy or happiness. The facial expression is calm and there is particularly bright twinkle in the eye. Technically speaking, I really like the texturized style I decided to go with. There's a lot of bold colors and the strokes really add interest. To keep everything cohesive I made sure to include purple, yellow, and green in every square. The yellow eye I do wish was slightly smaller, and the awkward forehead amount in the red one makes me uncomfortable. I wasn't sure what to do though, because the canvas cut off right where the hairline would start, so it kind of just looks like a never ending forehead instead. I really love the blue canvas, however, I don't think theres anything major I would change about it. Overall, this piece was super fun to make, has a cool concept, and came out looking nice. This piece just kind of makes me happy about art again.
