I chose to work with juxtaposition. The idea was to take a young child, which symbolizes youth and innocence, and have them smoking a cigarette, which is associated with maturity and corruption. I decided to use my own baby picture because why not? Although, I kind of regret this because i had such a big head as a child. Believe it or not the drawing is actually pretty proportionate to the real picture. My head was just ridiculously big which really bothers me. I also almost forgot about the cigarette, so i forgot to draw the hand in a position that could hold a cigarette. As a result, the hand looks super weird. I do like that i decided to use both black and white charcoal. I don't know. I guess i kind of hate it but it kind of don't at the same time. I am not really sure how i feel, but whatever.

I think this looks so good! I don't think the head looks too big, and I think the idea of having a kid holding a cig is a deep concept and it's cool you incorporated your own picture for the project

The shading on this is amazing, You may have hated the process, but it turned out really well. Try to find a similar medium that you like better, such as pencil or crayon. You're talented with this medium, you just need to apply yourself!

I actually like how the hand isn't holding the cigarette correctly because I think it adds to your theme of corruption of youth and the child isn't an adult yet, but is trying to do adult things and does so the wrong way.

I find the juxtaposition of a child holding a cigarette very thought provoking. I almost feel like it could be a message addressing how children are "growing up" faster and faster the more we progress into the future.
